lip.
"Don't do that. I told you before the only one marking you is me."
    "But, you said you're sorry. I assumed…"
"Dammit, Nikita!" He released her and ran a hand through his hair in an effort to keep himself from touching her, because heaven help him, he'd put her over his knee again. His dick hardened at the thought, and she gasped when she noticed.
"I said I'm sorry, because I should have been much gentler on you. This was your first time. You deserved flowers, and chocolate, and sweet seduction, not a hard, perverted fuck." She flinched at the words, and he gentled his tone and hooked his finger under her chin to make her look at him. "Why didn't you tell me, squirt? You should have told me."
"And what would you have done, had I told you? You'd have treated me differently. Damn you, Raoul, I don't want nice. I never did. I just wanted you, all of you, and I wanted you to treat me like you treat all the other girls you've been with. I'm tired of being your friend."
She clamped her mouth shut as though she'd said too much, and he rubbed his thumb across her lips. They were still swollen from his earlier kisses, and her delicate skin showed the burn from his stubble.
"Baby, we left being friends behind when I put you over my knee, and I have the urge to do that again, to stop those inane thoughts swirling around in your head." Her breath hitched at that, and he didn't need his shifter senses to smell the sweet musk of her arousal. "You'd like that , wouldn't you, squirt?"
She didn't answer, but that blush of hers deepened, and she shifted her legs restlessly. Giving in to instinct , he straddled her legs and pinned her arms above her head.
"That's better. I can't have you wriggling around when I'm trying to have a conversation here."
She giggled at that, and just like that the old Nikita was back. She stuck her tongue out at him, and the niggling worries he'd carried around with him lifted off his shoulders. He grinned down at her, and then he sobered.
"Seriously, squirt. I wish you'd told me. You'll be sore for days after what we did, and for the record , I would never treat you like those plentiful other women you seem to think I have. They were just a fuck, a play mate, a roll in the hay, whatever euphemism you want to come up with. I would never treat you like that. You're…"
He ran out of words, not ready to spill his love for her. She still didn't know who he truly was, and he couldn't tell her. Thanks to her poor eyesight she clearly hadn't noticed his wolf shining through, and he couldn’t shake the uneasy feeling that his wolf would be one step too far. The Nikita he knew did not believe in anything even remotely paranormal, and he was too afraid of spoiling what they had now. If she ran from him, then how would be protect her from the very real threat looming over them ? No, she was better off not knowing, until he had to tell her. It was safer that way for all concerned.
His wolf grumbled his annoyance at his thought processes, but he was back in full charge of him, and he ignored his beast.
    "I'm what, Raoul?" she asked.
"You're too important to me, that's what you are. And this … this relationship we're now finding ourselves in, I want to explore that fully, if you'll let me."
Nikita pursed her lips and gave him the full once-over, the cheeky minx.
"Well, I suppose you'll do, but if you think you can pull any of that Dom stuff on me outside the bedroom, then you can think again."
Raoul laughed, a deep belly laugh that he couldn't seem to stop, and she pouted at him in the most adorable way.
"I mean it! I fail to see what's so funny about this. You're overbearing enough without me giving you permission to boss me about 24/7."
"Squirt, I have no intention of lording over you full time. The mere thought exhausts me, and I know it's not what you're looking for. I want a submissive in my bedroom, for sure, but I also want a strong woman who knows her own mind and can stand on her own two feet.
