no idea they were able to do it so quickly. Chase and Grayson hadn't even removed their clothes. I'd heard that shifters' clothes magically shifted with them, reappearing on their physical forms once they shifted back into human form.

Though they were still a good distance away, I could see that Chase and Grayson were just as physically impressive in wolf form as they both were in human form. They were both extremely large for wolves, standing so tall I figured their backs would probably at least reach the height of my shoulders. The fur was the same as their hair was while they were in human form, Grayson's fur was a bit darker than Chase's, such a deep charcoal gray it was nearly black. Chase's fur was lighter, a deep silvery-gray.

They both issued howls at the same time, which seemed to be some sort of signal to their pack. All the men in the pack immediately shifted and began howling along with Chase and Grayson. It struck me as a surreal scene, a pack of shifter wolves howling in a sunlit lane with patches of wildflowers waving in the breeze on either side of them, though I didn't have long to contemplate this.

Within seconds, Chase and Grayson both stopped howling at the same time, then cut across the lane and darted into the dense forest beyond. Their pack immediately followed them.

I watched until the last of them disappeared into the trees, wondering what the pack was doing, and why they seemed to set out so quickly. I also wondered when Chase and Grayson would be back, and what I was supposed to do in the meantime. To my surprise, I realized I was kind of eager to see them both again. And not only because I'd definitely enjoyed our intimacy the night before and was just maybe slightly eager for more of it; absolutely astonished, I realized that I kind of just wanted to spend more time with them, just more time with them, period, maybe outside of the bedroom, to get to know each of them a little better.

This thought not only amazed me, but made me a little appalled with myself as well. Though I wasn't really afraid of Chase and Grayson at all anymore, I definitely didn't exactly trust them, either. Without a doubt, I still saw all wolves as evil, them included. I was thinking, though, that it was possible they simply wouldn't be showing that evil side to me . I thought it might be that these wolves had the decency to treat their women a little better than they treated people in the towns they attacked. I had to hope this was the case. Because if it was, when my fertility deception was eventually found out, maybe this would mean that Chase and Grayson would let me live.

After showering and getting dressed, I set about making breakfast, and soon was deep in thought. So deep, that I jumped a mile when a knock sounded on the door just as I'd finished making a big pan of scrambled eggs. The activities of the previous night seemed to make me wake up unusually hungry.

Figuring maybe Chase and Grayson had already returned and had decided to be polite and knock this time, unlike they'd done the night before, I dashed out to the front door and flung it open. It wasn't Chase or Grayson who'd knocked. Instead, a petite blonde woman stood holding the hand of a blonde little girl who appeared to be maybe three or four. This little girl held a cluster of bright wildflowers in one of her tiny hands, and she held the flowers out to me with a shy smile.

    "Hi."

I took the flowers, smiling, my heart melting, even though at the same time, I was a bit confused as to who my visitors were. "Hi, there. And thank you."

The petite blonde woman, who I guessed was about my age, mid-twenties, extended a hand and gave me a smile just as tentative and shy as the little girl's had been. "Hello. I'm Flora, and this is my daughter, Lily."

I shook the woman's hand, giving her a discreet once-over, thinking that she looked to be in pretty good form for living with a wolf pack, as I assumed she did.
