Kota had retrieved his truck from the airport parking garage. It felt good to be going home, especially now that he had his mate. He wouldn’t tell Blair, but he was nervous as well. Kota worried about how his mate would feel living in a loud, chaotic home with a bunch of grown pups running amuck. He also worried about how the wolves would react to his mate. He knew they wouldn’t

disrespect him, but he wanted Blair to feel at home, comfortable.
They pulled into the gravel drive. Kota told Blair to leave his things. He would have someone take it to their room. He took his mate through a side entrance so Blair wouldn’t be overwhelmed by his pack. There would be time for introductions, but right now he wanted to see Maverick.
Kota led his mate down the hall and knocked on the office door.
“Come in,” Maverick yelled through the door.
“Wait right here for just a moment, sunshine.” Kota ran his knuckles down his cheek. Blair nodded. Kota could tell his mate was a nervous wreck.
“Hey, Maverick.” Kota didn’t go any farther than inside the door.
He didn’t want to leave his mate outside by himself.
“Good. A welcome face. Come in, my friend. Have a seat.” Kota smiled at his longtime friend. He and Maverick had known each other since they were pups. He thought of the six foot nine Alpha as more of his best friend than anything else.
“Um, I have someone to introduce you to. Is that okay?” Kota opened the door, waving for Blair to come in.
“Sure, you know it is.” Maverick stood, watching Kota.
Blair stepped in, coming right to his side. His mate fell back into his habit of lowering his eyes and tucking his hair behind his ear as he twisted his fingers together. Kota saw a look of shock on Maverick’s face for a split second before it was masked.
“Alpha, this is Blair, my mate.” Kota touched the small of Blair’s back, encouraging him to go to Maverick. His mate stepped forward.
Maverick extended his hand. “Nice to meet you, Blair. I’m Maverick.”
His sunshine shook Maverick’s hand then quickly stepped back to him. “Can I fill you in on everything in a little while? I want to introduce him to the men.” Kota felt Blair shaking slightly. He took his hand and twined their fingers together.
“Of course, Kota. Take your time.”

Kota led him to the den. Since Cecil’s arrival, everyone hung over here. They stopped calling the place their Alpha’s house and renamed it “The Den” for the room that saw the most action.
There was a huge flat panel television hanging on the wall to the left with two brown suede sofas that sat in an L formation with a poker table situated behind them, and a state of the art stereo system and surround sound sitting on a glass stand under the television. Cecil had added his touch with an Xbox 360 with all the accessories and games imaginable. There was a pool table and a bar set up to the right of the room with a dart board on the farthest wall. It felt just like being in a tavern, only more comfortable.
“Well, look what the cat dragged in. A dog.” Great. Just who Kota needed to see right about now, loudmouthed Remi. The guy had a comment about everything. He was definitely outspoken, which was something Kota didn’t want his mate to deal with right now.
“Hey to you, too, Remington.” Kota inclined his head. “This is my mate, Blair.” Kota reached behind him and placed his hand on the small of his mate’s back, bringing him forward.
“Hey, Blair, I’m Remi. Nice to meet you.”
Blair waved. “Hi.” He tucked his hair behind his ear, staring at the floor. Kota whispered in his ear, “Remember what we talked about, sunshine?” Blair nodded and raised his head, staring everyone in the eye.
“Hey, handsome. I’m Jasper.”
Blair took a step back, giving Kota a nervous glance.
“He’s the queen around here. He means nothing by it, love.”
Dakota softly spoke to him.
Blair nodded
