in this game, I need to make my own name. I need to know what I can do on my own.  Honestly, I know a lot of my success is because of my last name. Down there it’s just me and the Corleones. I need this to solidify myself pops, and expand our business as a crew. Don’t worry, you gonna make money with this venture. Just trust me, and understand that I can handle this.”
“So , this is really something you think you wanna do?”
“It’s something I have to do as a man, pops. You remember how you came up. Imagine if you and your co-op had somebody always putting a cap on what ya’ll wanted to do. Do you think you would be where you are today?”
“Say no more , son. Go do what you got to do, but the return deadline remains the same. You’re expected to have all the money when it’s due, no questions asked. I don’t care how shit is going here in the city or down there, the money is due when it’s due.”
“I understand , dad.” Samir agreed.
“Cool, so , is this the only reason you came to visit your old man? I mean, you can hang out with your dad, it ain’t always gotta be business,” Carlyle told him.
“Naw pops , that’s not the only reason I came through. I did wanna talk to you man to man about this girl I met.”
    “I see. What’s on your mind ?”
“See , I met her a little while ago, and I’m really feeling her, but she’s young, and her home life is crazy. Her mother is abusive towards her, and the only time I really get to see her is when she runs away to her best friend’s house, or when her mom kicks her out. I don’t know what to do, cuz’ I wanna take care of her, but I can’t. Like, how do you know you found the one pops? How do you distinguish between real love and strong like?” Samir asked his father.
“Sounds like a tough one , Samir. I remember when I first met your mother. The very moment I saw her on campus something inside of me ignited and I had to have that woman. See, meeting her made me feel something I never felt. I was usually only concerned about what a woman would be like in bed, but when I met your momma, I found myself just wanting to be next to her. I would drive down to Champagne to see her every chance I got. I spent hours thinking about her and talking to her. Shit, I never talked to no bitch on the phone when I was that age. It was all about getting money, but your momma, boy, she made me want to hustler harder, just to give her the world,” Carlyle explained as he reminisced on his early years with Lola.
“That’s exactly how I feel about K hloe, pops. I think I love her.”
“Love is a strong emotion , son.”
“I know it is , and I know we’re both young, but I really think I’m in love with her, and that’s kinda scary in this business, because love can get you fucked up.”
“Samir , let me tell you something about this game that your older brother’s neglected to tell you because they weren’t in that mind frame. Being in the game is stressful, and being top guys makes it that much more stressful. You gotta watch everything and everybody. It’s a lot about this game that will drive a nigga crazy, so you need to find someone who you know gon’ be down for you, and can be your peace away from this game. You need someone there that allows you to leave the stress of the game at the door. If I didn’t have that in your momma and your step mother, I wouldn’t have lasted this long. Losing your mother was the hardest thing I had to deal with, and if I could change it, I would, but I was lucky cuz’ I found your step mother, and I’m even luckier that we have the kind of family dynamic that we have, and that son, is credit to the kind of woman your mother is.”
“ I feel that, but how do I have that with her if I can’t even see her?”
“You just got to be patient with that situation , son, especially if you say you in love with her. Just take what you can and the time will come. All you gotta do is be patient.”
    “I’m
