ass grin covered my face, as I squeezed her buttery smooth thigh. Some head sounded fire right now.
    “Carter, I—”
“Ah! On your own time. Now my shorty has a doctor we can go to, and they have a slot for 11am next Friday,” I cut Sophie off. I was not about to sit here and listen to her plead for his forgiveness or whatever the fuck she was about to do. She could do that shit once we left. “You're welcome to come for a test as well, Carter, but I'm not sure how that would make Sophie look.”
“I don't want to use her doctor.” Sophie looked to Jersey with an attitude.
“Well boo, unless you can find one right now who is willing to have this done in a week, you're gonna have to,” Jersey replied.
“Why does she even have to be here? She wasn’t there when I fucked you!” Sophie hollered.
I gripped Jersey's arm, because her leg was bouncing, which meant she was ready to fight. I saw her adjusting her grip on Alexsia's carrier, so I knew she wanted to use that same hand to punch Sophie's ass. Sophie was beneath her, and I refused to allow Jersey to stoop to her level and fight her.
“Sophie, she's my fiancée and she's here because I wanted her to be. Is 11am next Friday good or not? Matter fact, fuck that, and be there by 10:45am so we can check in. If you're late, you and him will regret it.”
“Don't threaten me, boy!” Carter yelled.
“I just did. See you later,” I stood up and so did Jersey. I made sure to guide her little ass in front of me so that we could leave, because I didn't want her to wail on Sophie's ass.
As she and I were walking out, I heard Carter and Sophie arguing. That nigga was mad, and I couldn’t really blame him. However, if he came at me foul again, he would no longer be on this Earth, and I put that on my daughter.
The three of us got into the car, and then I drove off, headed to go get some food.
“That is not your baby, Kilexis,” Jersey touched my hand.
    “Told you, ma.”

    Chapter Three: Cheyla
    Few days later…
School wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I just knew I would be stressed out and over it after just a few weeks, but here it was a month in, and I was good. I actually enjoyed having somewhere to be four times a week, because it filled the void of me wanting to work. I no longer felt useless and lazy. It was better than stripping though, because every morning that I woke up, I knew I was striving for something and not just getting out to make money.
It was Thursday afternoon and since today was my last day of classes for the week, I was in an extra good mood. I could not wait to get home, take a nice hot shower, eat, and watch TV. If tonight was real good to me, Kantwan would come home before I fell asleep, and we could cuddle and have sex. I swear I hated being away from him. I was in love with him, and I didn’t mind being in his presence on a consistent basis.
I'd eaten lunch earlier, but now that I was pregnant it seemed like I was hungry all the damn time. I decided to go to the food court and get a deli sandwich since that would be quick, giving me time to eat it and chill before going into class. I ordered my sandwich, and then stepped to the side so I could wait for it to be prepared. Suddenly, someone came and stood extra close to me. When I looked, his smug expression was immediately recognizable. Before I could get a word out, he yanked me into a little hallway, and pressed me against the wall.
“What do you want?” I grimaced, even though I was scared out of my mind. I had to play tough, because if he knew I was afraid, I’m sure he would take advantage of that.
“You should know that I'm not gonna let you get away with setting up my brother and his girl,” Monty's brother Isaiah replied. He looked so sneaky and conniving, that it was hard to tell if he was attractive or not.
“Nobody set him up. I don't even know what you're talking about. Monty will be alright, and if he has a problem with me, he knows where to
